Bleed your radiator Back to top
You should try to bleed your radiator at least once a year. It is not difficult, but there are some things to keep in mind. If your radiator is warm at the bottom and cool at the top, you need to bleed it from the side of the radiator. If it is warm at the top and cooler at the bottom, you should not bleed the radiator and need to contact us.

To bleed your radiator

You need a bleed key which you can pick up at any local hardware store, and a piece of tissue or towel

Put the tissue underneath the valve, insert the radiator key and open the valve.

Once the air has purged from the radiator, you will then start to see water coming out of the valve, tissue to catch it and then turn the valve back off
- Once you have bled your radiators, and if you have a combination boiler, you will need to re-pressurise the boiler accordingly.
